Jackson, who insists everyone call him Jackson never Jack, is a rising high school Sophomore. This summer his big plan is to perfect his business card. Even though he doesn’t really have a business, Jackson has great plans for his future that involve activities like handing out his business card and shaking strangers hands. Moist hands for the most part, if previous experience is any guide. Jackson uses words like “bifurcate” in lieu of split or separate, “inchoate” instead of mixed up or confusing. “Dwindle” and “diminish” are some of his favorite new words though he is trying hard right now not to project an attitude that could be characterized as “diminishing” by his peers. Jackson is looking forward to his adult life. The trick he realizes is getting through high school with his dreams, personality and clear sense of self intact.
