Good Narrative Principles

The Pink Story

Don’t ask me why but Victoria has a thing about pink. It makes her feel fresh and free inside. The more candy pink the better, like bubblegum in the playground.  It’s not something Victoria cares to discuss in depth, but secretly she sees it as a mark of distinction. When they first started dating, Mark, her husband, considered it a deal breaker. The last thing he wanted was a life furnished in pink. Pink couch, pink chairs, pink Mr. Coffee. Turns out Victoria was willing to comprise on their communal space. But her showroom down in the village featuring wall-to-wall pink is a hit and has covered the cost of their two sons college educations as well as a winter trip to Bora Bora.
