Good Narrative Principles

Making Strides

Some call me a control freak. A sadist. Unremitting, and not in a good way. In my defense I would say I know what I want. Clearly, I’m not absolving myself of a certain degree of nastiness. Nor am I so desperate to please that I’d invoke the Nietzsche überman bullshit. What I want is simply for the actors to cross the room in this scene from left to right in the same beat. I want their strides to match. Footfall for footfall. Can someone please explain to me why that is so challenging?
