Clinching the Deal

They met at a New Year’s party ten years ago. This was before New Year’s parties became equated with “party jail”, when no one dares leave the party until after ball the ball drops. First they flirted. Then danced. Then stood on the street listening to the city howling as the New Year began and the Tequila kicked in. The next day, hung over, they saw two Preston Sturges films. And that clinched the deal.
