Sure, we can gaze up at the night sky and wonder if we’re alone in the universe. Or stand at the edge of the endless surf, thinking about what it all means. The question, this thought, might reach a crescendo of significance. Maybe we’re even rounding towards some sort of conclusion, when, out of the corner of our eyes, we notice the kids running with pails sloshing with water.
